Senior Services

San Juan County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) provides numerous services for the senior citizen, including home health care, homemaker and chore services, legal counseling, information and referral, senior advocacy, escort, shopping, outreach, and more.

All senior centers in San Juan County provide a variety of special and recreational events, including games, arts & crafts, blood pressure screening, short and overnight trips, movies, etc. Transportation is provided to and from all activities.

San Juan County AAA is networked through the State of Utah Division of Aging and Adult Services and the Federal Administration on Aging. San Juan County AAA is also a member of Utah State and National Associations of Area Agencies on Aging.

Group meals are prepared on site. Home delivered meals are available. Transportation is provided to and from meals and activities, for medical visits, shopping, sightseeing, and community events.

Activities held at the Senior Centers include recreation, health screenings, legal assistance (Utah Legal Services), counseling, and education. The Aging Program also provides home visits, longterm ombudsman, assisted living technology, and senior employment. The program is active with the County InHome Services, preventative health, and health insurance information and counseling. Other services are provided directly or through contract, such as: AARP, Adult Protective Services, Alzheimer Network, weatherization, and more.
